yup... ahhhh.

Not that anybody would want to hear it... but I think my friends would.

I will be talking about the entertainment indrustry, culture and the internet. Of course I'll be mentioning skinning, but since most of the people I know have no clue what skinning is, or podcasting, or blogs, I will tend to explain allot when I speak to skinning.

SPECIAL NOTE:
My long awated Art and Skin Report will be discussed on there also, so check that out too.
http://thereport.esourcemagazine.com

I'll also talk about socks. Womens socks to be more presise. Also, in general, why people wear socks with sandles, why we call it 'pee' when it doesn't make that sound... AND MORE!!!!
I am so excited!!! Me, a podcaster. Only in America.

Just wondering... now that desktop gadgets.com is out, does anybody think they would be interested in a DX theme, widget and gadget making contest?

This isn't exaclty about a movie... its about a online archiving tool of all your media and book listings. From what you have to what you wish you had.

The site is still in development, but what makes it different from other simular sites is that it is run by tags, and it has large social networking abilities.

The interface is nice too. A far cry from other sites like this (even the one I am developing LOL)

Users get their own sub url of which makes it even easier to share your collection with friends (or anybody watching)

The developer for the site is pretty accessable so your ideas just might be used for the site. Tell him what you think Listal should have.

Here is the link:

(In case you want to see my collection: http://esourcemagazin.listal.com ...just so you know, your sub url text limit is 14)

I'm making what I call a blog soap, blog drama and a series of movies! Come watch!

Sep 25, 2005 2:01 PM by Discussion: Movies & TV & Books

As some of you may already know, I am working on a few animated shows for my blog. I am not only doing this because its just fun, but I am doing this in the hopes that other try it too. Maybe it will become the 'thing' to do or the next TV medium to be concored (spell?).

So basically I have 3 formats of which I am working on. One is 2Charlton where so far the main person is DavidLove. This blog soap is crated with a 3d online site called There.com (the image on top). Basically the story revolves around the place where DavidLove lives and a few areas around it. I am already developing the buildings and surrounding in There and hopefully other will join in the fun.

Then there is The Sims2. Here is a drama-comedy about a security guard working at some building in downtown SimVille and the crap that goes on there.

I will be recording some scenes and posting them online. I'll even translate some of it!!!

Then there is The Movies. This is a PC game that allows you to make movies. So, I;m gonna make movies. I don't know what the first movie is going to be, so just look out for it.

While the blog soap 2Charlton will never be recorded (just screenshots and reposting of scenes), the Sims and Movie will end up having sales for past seasons. All the sales proceeds go to turning esourcemagazine into a non-profit OR to run esourcemagazine as a organization that helps artists and entertainers.

Also, DavidLove is the host of the TV show called The Report (the show is actually fake and is part of 2Charlton) and you can see him writing 'reports' and even giving interviews. Some interviews will be on There and viewable to everyone who sees it when it happens (the transcript will be posted on The Report)

View more junk cool stuff that I am doing in my gallery.

Easily identify what are the processes running on your PC. Just use this site to research the *.exe listed in your Task Manager.

This is SOOOO important its not even funny. I was looking for this but gave up after googling it, A9 searches, and yohooin it... yes I said yahooing it. What I like Yahoo.

Anyway, how many times have you wanted to knock out a process because it was taking too much memory or even virtual memory? The sran thing is eating up CPU cyles? Turn it off! (well at least find out if you CAN turn it off by using the link provided).

PDC 2005: Vista Game Screenshots!

The games that come with Windows XP are pretty dated. But with Windows Vista, Microsoft has gone back to the drawing board. Included in Vista is a whole slew of updates to classics along with some new games including a pretty nice chess game. Check out the screenshots below.

Mac Zealots: Get a grip

Over at MicrosoftGadgets.com, Mac zealots are giving new meaning to the term uninformed fanatic. This week, Microsoft announced Microsoft Gadgets. As has been discussed, gadgets are similar to widgets except they do not require the user to download a run-time in order to use them. They're stand-alone entities.

Microsoft's gadgets are designed to be used on Windows Vista (and on XP via Avalon) and can sit on the desktop, be placed on the Windows Side-bar and be put onto the web.

mormegil says: These are from 2000. Two Friking Thousand!!!!

The Cartman Widget example

Our friends at OSX-E have a great widget tutorial for Konfabulator put together by Herd, talented widget author.

It's a very well written tutorial that walks the user through how to create a widget for Konfabulator. Since its release, Konfabulator has gotten a lot of great publicity on its ability to create widgets. As the product manager of its primary Windows competitor, DesktopX, I can appreciate Konfabulator as both a technology and as a popular phenomenon. Its existence has forced us to get a lot better at our own marketing and developer support.

DesktopX precedes Konfabulator by years. But being a Windows-only product, we haven't gotten anywhere near the press that Konfabulator received so often times Mac users believe that user created mini-applets on the desk originated with it.

DesktopX is object-oriented in nature. Users make their creations with objects. When they are done, they can export their creations as widgets or as entire desktops. For that reason DesktopX has a disadvantage -- it seems more complicated than Konfabulator to a new user. Because it can be used....

Microsoft Gadgets understood

Our story so far..

In 2000 Stardock released DesktopX 3.0 which gave Windows support for desktop objects. These objects could be used to build entire desktops or exported as mini-applications called "widgets".

DesktopX became pretty popular with millions of users downloading it and trying it out. Unfortunately, most of the content created by developers looked like it was made by developers. 3 years later, a Mac developer released Konfabulator which also created mini-applets. They wisely included a series of incredibly polished looking widgets that showed off what could be done. Combined with excellent marketing, Konfabulator became very well known.

In 2005, Stardock released DesktopX 3 which also came in a Pro version that could create gadgets. Gadgets are like widgets except they don't require the user to download an enabler. The gadget contains the executable code within it it needs to function.

In July 2005, Yahoo acquired Konfabulator rebranding it Yahoo Widgets. The question came up, what is DesktopX's future? Why would developers create widgets/gadgets for DesktopX over making them for Konfabulator?

The answer came...

DavidLove, RomanceLove, 2 Charlton and other charactors are part of a show on There called 2 Charlton. It is a soap opera that carries on in a virtual 3D world. Its an idea from esourcemagazine (a website for artists and entertainers) to make the web more fun and cool. Currently DavidLove lost his brother romance to a fatal car accident. David has quit his high grossing job to move to a new place (2 Charlton) somewhere over there (get it?) to start life fresh. He was hired to be a reporter for a new TV magazine called The Report.

Between 2 Charlton and DavidLove, the word should get out about skinning, WinCusomize, JoeUser and esourcemagazine (the new non-profit in town).

Money issues...

Sep 19, 2005 10:19 AM by Discussion: Business
The Plan:
To open up a non-profit that helps artists, entertainers, fans, and developers come together unter one roof.
(I really want to help skinners, but I thought, why not other artists too?)

The Goal:
Become the number one portal for entertainment news, culture and health.
(Education is key to all of my projects)

The Solution:
Use the internet as a platform for interaction between new artists and entertainers, old school experts (from being an artist to the school of hard knocks), fanboys, the curious, and people who just want to help. Use open source stategies like OpenDB, FileManager, Coppermine and Geeklog (for example) along with (x)HTML, MySQL and PHP to create and maintain the rest of the site.

Today I go to NYC Solutions to get some forms and find out when to go to what. I also call up WIBO and hopefully start classes in January 2006 for 'How to start up a company' and join their network of small businesses.

WIBO:
http://www.wibo.org

One problem is that I want to start raising money now, but will that effect me becoming a org down the road if I already have other people's money (OPM).

Between Cafepress t-shirt sales, OpenDB catalog of dvd/movies/books/music sales (if any), Amazon and magazine referas... I can track the money easily, but does earning the money before I incorportate into a non-profit hurt or help?

Since I REALLY want to go ahead and start eSM, esgMUSIC and models.esourcemagazine, but at the same time if it will cause allot of grief, I'll slow that up to a crawl if need be.

Anyone here a little knowledgable on this or have some first hand experience on opening up a non profit?
